Genie Poretzky-Lee is an artist who works in a wide range of materials and styles that reflect her concern with the environment, mysticism, and healing. Her current series of paintings prompts thinking about the relationship of materials and surfaces, grid and flow.

Overlapping layers of soft pastels are painstakingly built up into tightly structured compositions that have hidden analogies to textiles. Those composed of multiple panels are both seamed and seamless. Every work is an opportunity to extend the viewer’s awareness of process, time, and space.
